It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…..

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas…..

christmas-tree-2

Millbrook children have been busy getting ready for Christmas.

Last week the Friends held their Christmas fayre which was a great success

Father Christmas paid a visit and the school choir sang to create a truly festive feel to the afternoon. On Friday the School Choir performed at the Pavillions Waltham Cross and this week entertained the residents of The New Grange home for the elderly. Today we invited parents to join us at our Carol Service. The Reception children started the service each carrying a lit Christingle which is a symbolic object – Christingle means ‘Christ Light’ .

Countdown to Christmas Fayre Thursday 3rd Dec 3:30-5pm

christmas fayre ad 2015

The countdown to the Christmas Fayre is on! With less than 3 days till the event there is still lots to do.

Mrs Marcos has baked a cake for ‘Guess the Weight of the Cake’ but any other donations of cakes would be very welcome.

The Friends will be in school from 9 on Thursday if any parents would like to come and help set up tables, tag jars etc. Many hands make light work. The more we have we can finish in time to go have lunch and a break before the big event. Also if anyone can help during the event too and help tidy after. 🙂

We have lots of exciting stalls, Father Christmas will be here and the school choir will be
performing for us.

We have lots of great raffle prizes to give away….tickets have been sent home with the children, if you would like to purchase extra they are available from the office and also on the day.

Children in Need and School Tuck Shop 13th November 2015

Thank you to everyone who supported our Children in Need non-uniform day. We will let you know the amount raised in our next Newsletter.

The School Council held their first Healthy Tuck Shop at break time today.  As the weather was wet they had to hold it indoors.  The overall response was very good and the children enjoyed choosing their healthy snacks.

The next Tuck Shop will be Friday 20th November.

End of Term and Leavers Assembly

Today we held a very special assembly.  Not only did we celebrate good attendance, but we also held a wonderful leavers assembly for Year 6, some of the children were tearful as they were presented with a leavers  dictionary  thesaurus and pen.  Historically the award for “Student of Millbrook” usually goes to one individual who has demonstrated exceptional attributes, such as being an exceptional role model, having a positive attitude and being actively involved in school.  Following many discussions with Miss Wilson, it was decided that this year the award will go to not ONE but ALL of year 6!  Well done to all of you and all the best for the future.

We wish you all a lovely Summer Holiday!
