Lunchtime Art Club

Dear Mrs Stringer,

Thank you for inviting me to attend and observe the Millbrook lunchtime Art club.

I observed the Art club on Fri 6th Feb 2015 as a parent Governor.

My comments are below:

Mrs Stringer and 12 children ( 6 x Yr 6 and 6 x Yr 5) participate in a lunchtime Art club as part of the school

working towards the Arts Mark Award.

The children are working towards their Arts Award Discover at the moment from Trinity College London.

The children listened well to Mrs Stringer instructions detailing the sessions activity.  Which covered the Arts week which has taken place at school in Sept 2014.

The children recalled enthusiastically that they took part in a drumming workshop, a street dance session and enjoyed making props and performing a play to the parents.  The children further discussed that they were helped by an artist Jo Gill to make their own art worked based on the work of Henri Matisse.

As part of the schools Arts programme, Millbrook also takes part in a number of school productions. As a parent myself I have seen and enjoyed Easter and Xmas plays. Xmas Carol concerts and violin shows. The children always participate fully and thoroughly enjoy themselves.

A new dance club has been started by Mrs Frost one of the schools TA’s. The children are enjoying the club immensely.

If I can help or support the schools Arts programme please let me know.

Thank you again for the kind invitation.
