Welcome to Year 6
Teacher: Mrs Paton
Year 6 is a very busy year at Millbrook. The work is fast-paced as we revise the learning covered in previous year groups, for Literacy, Numeracy and Science ready for our SATS tests in May, while extending our vocabulary and knowledge.
This is a general information on things which we will be doing during year 6.

PE & Swimming
Our PE lesson is on Thursday. The children need their PE kit in school every day in case sessions change. Please ensure all uniform is clearly labelled with their name. If your child wears earrings they need to be able to remove them or cover them with tape. Long hair needs to be tied up.The children will have swimming lessons on a Friday in Autumn Term. They will be working towards completing their National Curriculum and Personal Survival Level 1 awards. They will require two thin, long sleeve tops and well as a pair of thin trousers to wear in the water each week, as well as their usual swimwear. In previous years we have found that thin pyjamas work best as they are lightweight and do not become heavy for the children to wear in the water.
Housepoints are awarded for positive behaviour and good work.
