Library Club Book Reviews.

At the last meeting of the library club some of the children chose to recommend books they thought other children would enjoy. Most children told me what they wanted to say but Bailey wrote her own.

Mrs Jason.

Driftwood by Cathy Cassidy

Do you like the sea air blowing through your hair? Do you believe in the magic of the sea? Joey and Hannah are the best of friends but when her new foster brother Paul steps in things change. This book is seriously addictive. I would recommend especially for girls in Year 5 and 6. My favourite book with a touching story line. I love it very much. READ IT !

Bailey Year 6

Shadow by Michael Morpurgo

The book is inspirational but very sad. It makes you remember that even if you think your life is bad, there are other people whose lives are worse than yours. It touched my heart.

Recommended for Year 6 because it might be upsetting.

Angel Year 6

The Roald Dahl Treasury by Roald Dahl

This book has all the Roald Dahl stories and the Revolting Rhymes. My favourite story is James and the Giant Peach because where would you get a peach that big?

My favourite rhyme is Cinderella but it is not like the story. It has some gory parts more suitable for Year 5 and 6.

Oshayna Year 5

Double Act by Jacqueline Wilson

A story about twins who are close to each other. However when their mother dies a lady called Kate comes into their lives and things change. I like the book as it is both sad and happy. Recommended for Years 5 and 6.

Methuli Year 6

Harry potter and the Chamber of Secrets by J.K.Rowling

This is the second book in the Harry Potter series. I like the adventure especially when Harry is in the chamber fighting the Basilisk. It’s a really interesting read but I would recommend that you read Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s stone first.

Shannon Year 6

Reptiles and Amphibians published by Dorling Kindersley

A very informative guide about reptiles and where they live. It gives information and shows photographs about the different species.

Recommended for children who are interested in animals but especially for Year 5 and 6.

Isaac Year 6

Marshmallow Skye by Cathy Cassidy

A story about 2 sisters who do everything together until their Dad moves to Australia. When mum gets a new boyfriend, who already has a daughter, the family changes.

A mysterious and sad story recommended for older readers.

Amber Year 6
