Welcome to Year 4
Teacher: Mrs Roe
This is a general information on things which we will be doing during year 4.
Year 4 Year Overview – Requires Adobe Acrobat Reader to open PDF
If you are interested to find out more about our curriculum then please speak to the class teacher.
Homework will be given out on Thursday, and is to be returned the following Wednesday. Children should be encouraged to manage their time during the week, so that it is completed by Wednesday
Reading – Children are expected to read every night for 15 minutes and their Reading Record should be signed.
Our PE lessons are on Thursdays and Fridays (in the Summer Term the children will swim). The children need their PE kit in school every day in case sessions change. Please ensure all uniform is clearly labelled with their name. If your child wears earrings they need to be able to remove them or cover them with tape. Long hair needs to be tied up.
House points will be awarded for positive behaviour and good work.
Mid-morning snacks and drinks
Children can bring in a snack to eat at break. This should either be fresh or dried fruit, a cereal bar, a yoghurt tube (e.g. Frubes) or similar finger food (no crisps or chocolate please). There is also the option for the children to buy a piece of fruit from the office when they arrive in the morning. This costs 20p per day or £1 for the whole week.
It is useful for the children to have a water bottle in class, so that they can have a drink quickly, particularly when the weather is hot.
