Week 11 - 1st June

Monday 1st June

Good morning everyone,

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend! There are no challenges today as we have a school inset day, so enjoy spending time with your family J

Tuesday 2nd June

Good morning everyone,

Challenge One

Enjoy The Huge Bag of Worries story. You can either watch the video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8QwEOSBjOt8 or enjoy the book with your grownup, if you have a copy at home.

Talk about the worries Jenny has in the story and discuss if you have any of the same worries. What might we be worried about at the moment? And how can we make our own bags of worries smaller, or even disappear like Jenny’s?

Challenge Two

Enjoy PE with Joe Wicks on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXb1nU9T4ZQ&list=PLyCLoPd4VxBuB85n50y4pOz_RzQK45j4T

Additional maths challenges that can be used throughout the week for this topic are on White Rose Maths: https://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/early-years/

Wednesday 3rd June

Good Morning,

It would be lovely if you can share some photos of you completing today’s challenges.

Challenge One

Play Higher or Lower. For this you may want to use the Ace to 10 cards from a deck of cards, write numbers or draw pictorial amounts onto pieces of paper. Please ensure you remove the Jack, Queen and King cards and explain that the Ace just means 1. Shuffle the cards and lay them in a line face down. Turn the first over and ask your child what number it is. Discuss how you might decide if the next card will be higher or lower, what number it might be if it is higher/lower. Play a few times and then add a picture to Tapestry, please comment on how your child worked out if the next card would be higher or lower, and if this skill developed to be more accurate over time.

Challenge Two

Go on a Colour Match Hunt. You could do this around your house, garden or even on a walk around your local area. Make yourself a colour chart and look for items to stick to your paper that match each colour.

Thursday 4th June

Good Morning,

Challenge One

Think about the story we shared on Tuesday and play the Emotions Game. You can print it off if you are able to or enjoy making the game on paper together.
