HOME LEARNING
Reading – Children are expected to read every night and their Reading Record should be signed. Please try to hear your child read regularly and discuss the book.
Books will be changed on a Monday if the reading record is signed. They will usually be changed at least once more in the week. The reading scheme is only part of reading, any additional reading that your child does is very important.
They will also start to learn their times tables this year, (2,5,10,3,4,8). Please help and encourage them in this.
Home Learning – Home learning will be set on Thursdays and expected to be returned on Tuesdays.
Spelling and Timetables tests will be on Friday.
P.E.
Our PE lessons are on Thursdays. The children need their PE kit in school every day in case sessions change. Please ensure all uniform is clearly labelled with their name. If your child wears earrings they need to be able to remove them or cover them with tape. Long hair needs to be tied up.
TRIPS
October 2019 Ware Museum.
MID-MORNING SNACKS AND DRINKS
In Year 3, fruit is no longer provided by the local authority and we do not have milk.
Lunchtime is at midday. Children should bring in a snack to eat at break. This should either be fresh or dried fruit, a cereal bar, a yoghurt tube (e.g. Frubes) or similar finger food (no crisps or chocolate please).
It is useful for the children to have a water bottle in class, so that they can have a drink quickly, particularly when the weather is hot.
REWARDS
Housepoints are awarded for positive behaviour and good work.
